Everything You Need to Feel Confident, Prepared, and Excited for Your Session

Your boudoir experience is about so much more than beautiful images.

It is about creating space to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and see your beauty in a way that feels honest, powerful, and completely your own.

My goal is to make you feel seen, supported, confident, and celebrated exactly as you are. You do not need modeling experience. You do not need to know how to pose. You do not need to change your body first.

You simply need to show up as yourself.

Inside this guide, I’ll walk you through what to expect, how the experience works, how to prepare, what to bring, and how your images can become meaningful artwork you’ll treasure for years.

I’m so glad you’re here.

  • Prepared for what happens before, during, and after your session.
  • Confident about what to wear and what to bring.
  • Reassured that you do not need to know how to pose.
  • Excited to create images that feel beautiful, timeless, and deeply personal.
  • Supported from the moment you book to the moment you hold your finished artwork in your hands

This Guide Will Help You Feel...

HOW THE BOUDOIR EXPERIENCE WORKS

Your Pre-Session Consultation

Your experience begins with a pre-session consultation scheduled directly with me. We’ll connect by phone or video chat for about 20 to 30 minutes so we can start bringing your vision to life.

During this call, we’ll talk through what you want your session to feel like, what you’re drawn to, what you’re nervous about, and how I can make the experience feel comfortable and personal to you.

We’ll also go over outfit ideas, styling, hair and makeup, what to bring, and any questions you may have before your session.

One of my favorite parts of the planning process is creating your Pinterest vision board together. This helps us gather inspiration for the overall feeling of your session, from wardrobe and styling to hair, makeup, and the little details that make the experience feel like you.

By the end of this call, my goal is for you to feel excited, prepared, and fully supported before you ever step into the studio.

Your Image Reveal

Within one to two weeks after your session, I’ll reach out to schedule your image reveal.

This is when you’ll see your images for the first time, and it is truly one of my favorite parts of the entire experience.

There is something powerful about watching a woman see herself in a new way, with beauty, softness, strength, confidence, and presence.

During your reveal, you’ll choose the images and artwork that mean the most to you. I’ll walk you through the options and help you select the pieces you love most.

Delivery

Once your selections are complete, your artwork will be carefully prepared.

Albums and custom products typically take a few weeks to arrive, depending on what you choose. Every piece is created with care so your images can be enjoyed, remembered, and held close for years to come.

Your images are more than files on a screen. They are a reminder of this season of your life, the courage it took to show up, and the beauty that was already there.

The Boudoir Session

On session day, you may feel a little nervous when you arrive. That is completely normal. Most women do.

You will not be expected to know what to do.

I will guide you through posing, movement, expression, hand placement, and all the little details that help your images feel natural and beautiful. You can simply relax into the experience and let me direct you.

The studio is a private, welcoming space created to help you feel safe, supported, and confident. From the first pose to the final image, you will be fully guided and taken care of.

This is not about performing for the camera. It is about allowing yourself to be present, supported, and seen.

Boudoir Session Experience

all my best tips

A little preparation can help you feel more relaxed and ready when session day arrives.

In the week before your session, try to drink plenty of water, rest when you can, and keep your beauty routine simple. Avoid trying new skincare, self-tanner, waxing, or beauty treatments right before your session, just in case your skin reacts.

Prepare your outfits ahead of time and bring the pieces we selected during your consultation. If something wrinkles easily, hang or steam it before your session.
If hair and makeup will be done at the studio, please arrive with clean, dry hair and a clean face. If you are doing your own hair and makeup, please arrive fully styled and ready.

Wear loose, comfortable clothing on your way to the studio so you do not have marks on your skin.

Bring any jewelry, shoes, accessories, or personal pieces you’d like to include.

Most importantly, give yourself permission to arrive exactly as you are. You do not have to feel perfectly confident before your session. That is what this experience is here to help you reconnect with.

what to wear

Your outfits should make you feel comfortable, confident, and like yourself.

Boudoir does not have to mean lingerie only. Lingerie can be beautiful, but so can a bodysuit, an oversized sweater, denim, a button-up shirt, a silk robe, a dress, or simple white sheets.

I recommend bringing a few options so we can choose what photographs best and what feels most natural once you are in the studio.

When choosing outfits, look for pieces that fit well without digging in, pulling, or making you feel distracted. You want to be able to move, breathe, and feel at ease.

Try everything on before your session day so there are no surprises. Remove tags, steam anything that wrinkles easily, and pack your pieces the night before.

If you are unsure what to bring, do not stress. We will talk through outfit ideas during your consultation, and I’ll help guide you toward pieces that fit the feeling you want for your session.

WHAT YOU DO WITH THE IMAGES

Your Images Deserve to Be Seen

Your boudoir images are meant to be more than something you view once and forget.

They are a reminder of your beauty, your strength, your softness, your confidence, and this version of you right now.

Many clients choose to preserve their images in a custom album because it feels personal, timeless, and easy to keep close. Others choose wall art or keepsake pieces that allow them to see their images in a more intentional way.

Whether your images are a gift, a personal celebration, or something just for you, your finished artwork gives the experience a lasting place in your life.

These images are not just about how you looked. They are about how you felt when you finally allowed yourself to be seen.
Boudoir can be an unforgettable gift for someone you love, but it is also a powerful gift to yourself.

If your session is connected to a wedding, anniversary, birthday, milestone, or special occasion, we’ll talk through timing during your consultation so your artwork can be completed in time.

Albums and custom products take time to design, order, and deliver, so planning ahead is important.

Even when the images are intended as a gift, the experience itself is still yours. You are the one stepping into the studio, allowing yourself to be seen, and creating something meaningful from this season of your life.

PLANNING THIS AS A GIFT?

Frequently Asked Questions

Hair and makeup aren’t required, but I highly recommend them as part of the boudoir experience  a chance to feel pampered and confident. You’re more than welcome to do your own hair and makeup.

Please note that hair and makeup are not included in the boudoir session fee. We’ll discuss your hair and makeup ideas in advance and include your look on your Pinterest vision board. Everything will be planned before your photo shoot.

ARE HAIR AND MAKEUP REQUIRED?

It’s best to give yourself 4–6 weeks to schedule your boudoir session. This allows plenty of time to plan your outfits, hair and makeup, and Pinterest vision board, and ensures your session fits perfectly with any special event dates you have in mind.

After your session, your image reveal will be ready within 1–2 weeks, and custom albums or other products are typically ready within 2–4 weeks.

How Much Time Do I Need to Book a Boudoir Session?

Typically, your image reveal will be ready within 1–2 weeks after your boudoir session. When you see your images for the first time, this is my absolute favorite part of the process.

WHAT’S YOUR  TURNAROUND TIME?

It’s completely normal to feel a little nervous before your boudoir session. Remember, this is your personal experience, and I am here to support you every step of the way.

My studio is a safe, welcoming space, and I’ll guide you through the entire session. We begin with gentle, simple poses designed to help you feel at ease and start connecting with the camera. Very quickly, you’ll find yourself moving confidently around the studio, embracing the experience, and fully stepping into yourself.

Your comfort and confidence are my top priority. Every part of your boudoir session is created to make you feel celebrated, supported, and beautiful exactly as you are.
